Marching to His Drum

October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Inspired by an image created by a dear friend, I've decided I'm breaking the silence.

I had a son. He was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 when I was 16 weeks pregnant. I was given the option to abort the child that was labeled as "Incompatible with Life".  My choice to carry my son to term regardless of his poor prenatal diagnosis was the best decision of my life. I hope my experiences, my feelings, and my growth can somehow encourage those of you with sick children to keep doing what you are doing. I hope that my own journey can encourage and help those dealing with losses. My healing has surpassed all the hurt and I'm so grateful for what I've been through.

This is his story. This is my story. It is full of miracles, greetings with Heaven, and confrontations with the devil himself. This is a raw story that has taken me this long (21 months) to find the courage to share it. Life is crazy, but its crazy good. My son is a valiant angel in Heaven. I know he is. And this is just me, marching to his drum....
